Not only does studying sociology help you better understand people, but it also helps you better understand yourself. Our society is full of social hierarchies, social groups and societal differences so it benefits to learn the dynamics.
Many career paths are available for an education in sociology. They range from general sociology, globalization and political to criminal justice. Studying sociology allows you the opportunity to expand your job search and not be stuck on just one option.

Northwest's sociology 24 credit hour minor is compatible with many different majors, as coursework examines the underlying patterns of society and human relationships across social institutions, human services, and communities. Students will look forward to courses such as criminology, urban sociology and race and ethnic issues in modern society.
